Mar 3, 2024 | Rescue Stories

Our Rescue of the month is Humane Society of Broward County, read on to find out all about who they are and meet one of their rescue dogs.

A passion for pets and their people The Humane Society of Broward County is about many things, but when you get down to it, we just want to bring amazing animals and people together.

The more we can create a compassionate community of animal advocates the happier we are, so join us! We’re in it for the love.

We love what we do, and we love sharing it with the community. We are devoted professionals with an enormous responsibility that we proudly assume with the helps of partners like you.

Our passion for rescuing dogs has been at the heart of our mission since our establishment in 1944. As an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable organization, we pride ourselves on being a beacon of hope for our furry friends in need.

After setting the stage with our commitment to rescuing dogs, allow us to introduce you to one of our very own furry friends eagerly awaiting their forever home.

Meet Freckles

Freckles is only 2-years-old, but he has clearly been through so much. This beautiful American Bulldog arrived to us from another shelter with little detail about his past, but what we do know is he’s very underweight and has tested positive for heartworm, Freckles also received hip surgery in our clinic, so will need to rest for the next 8 weeks so he can heal.

Despite all this, Freckles’ tail never stops wagging! He is a sweet and friendly boy that just wants a new start to life

Can you help give Freckles the good life?

Freckles’ heartworm treatment will be provided for free by our shelter, even after adoption.
